Mehmet Musa was born in Istanbul in 1999. He began drawing at a very young age. The cartoons he watched and the video games he played had a profound influence on him and helped shape his dream for the future. That dream was to see the characters he imagined, and the worlds they inhabited, come to life before his eyes and to be able to share them with others. With this goal in mind, he spent his childhood researching the production processes behind animation and video games. At the age of 13, thanks to his art teacher at school, he began studying at a classic drawing workshop that prepared students for the art academy. He later took the talent examinations and was admitted to Maltepe University’s Department of Cartoon and Animation, ranking first. There, he learned how to construct narratives with strong chains of cause and effect and how to develop original visual concepts. While continuing his academic studies, he completed short-term internships at several different companies, gaining knowledge of the video game industry and professional animation production processes. As he began preparing to go to Japan, the eastern heart of animation, in order to further develop his expertise, a job offer unexpectedly brought him into the Turkish animation industry. Since graduating, he has continued to develop his visual storytelling skills, learn new techniques, and strive to produce higher-quality work with every new project.

I believe that the increase in the rate of consumption of the produced content of today's consumers accelerates the production sector at the same amount and moves away from the old production quality. Therefore, animations, movies, and video games produced from the 1980s to the 2000s were the fuel for my productivity. In my works, I build a bridge between the high-quality productions of the old period and the rapid consumption approach brought by today's modern world and aim to present my concepts as original as possible, inspired by the sources from which clichés arise. I prefer to work in 2D because of the lack of spirit I have while working in 3D. For me, drawing the characters, again and again, makes me even more connected with them. This bond makes me feel inside of the worlds I have imagined. Therefore, the feeling of working in two dimensions is entirely different for me.
